KCO Resource Management, Australian recruiting firm form partnership

KCO Resource Management of Clifton Park has formed a partnership with Shamrock Food Recruitment of Melbourne, Australia, to target the dairy processing industry.

Both companies have a niche in the dairy industry. KCO, based in Clifton Park, names among its clients, the makers of Chobani Greek-style yogurt, Stonyfield Farm and Cabot.

Under the agreement, KCO Resource Management will handle clients in North America, South America and Europe, while Shamrock Food Recruitment will service clients in Asia, Africa, and Australia.

Both companies have experience filling technical and strategic management level positions in such areas as milk processing, yogurt and novelty ice cream ingredients.

Jill Osterhout, KCO’s co-executive director, said the two firms will serve each others clients and share candidates when there’s a need.

“We’re both in the relationship to make sure that we can service current companies we work with —and future companies—without any hitches, especially with time zones,” she said.

Melbourne is 14 hours ahead.

Osterhout said the partnership came about when she was in Australia seeking a general manager for a client. While there, Osterhout learned about Danny O’Regan, owner of Shamrock.

The partnership was formalized last month and the two are already working on projects jointly.

One of Shamrock’s major clients, DSM of The Netherlands, needs to make hires in the United States. KCO will be assisting with those hires.

“And one of my major clients, which I cannot reveal, is going to have business in Asia,” Osterhout said. “So, I’m sure that’ll be my first reach out to [O’Regan].”
